Carlos Martin Martin has been a hairdresser for more than 25 years. Now based in Brixton, he has worked in a variety of salons, serving demanding clients from Madrid to Chelsea!

Carlos is a perfectionist by nature, with a designer’s eye for detail. He established Blue Peacock to realise his ideal of hairdressing: a dedicated service provided in a calm environment. Carlos is a master with a pair of scissors.

“Many places will do your hair quickly and mechanically. But to do the best work, you need time and attention,” he says. “In a small salon, you can build a meaningful relationship with a client.”

Jayne started hairdressing 16 years ago after realising that working as a graphic designer wasn’t for her. She trained with Trevor Sorbie, Aveda and Brooks & Brooks in London, and decided to go freelance in 2008. Carlos and Jayne met 3 years ago and they’ve been friends ever since.

Jayne loves classic cuts that stand the test of time and are easy to maintain at home. When she’s not cutting hair in the salon, she makes natural hair products and runs her business called Hairy Jayne.

Jayne is at Blue Peacock on Wednesday’s Thursdays and Saturdays.
